John A. Schepisi

John A. Schepisi is the Founder and President of Schepisi & McLaughlin P.A., a law firm where he focuses on litigation, real estate development, and land use issues, including property acquisition, zoning approvals, and property development and marketing. An engineer by training, he is able to work with clients during the design phase of real estate projects and provide input on development. In the area of litigation, John has successfully represented clients in partnership disputes, corporate dissolutions, business acquisitions, and the like.

A well-respected member within the community, John has been a member of the Board of Governors of Hackensack University Medical Center and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Stevens Institute of Technology. John served on the founding board of Bridge View Bank, became its Vice Chairman, and then was instrumental in negotiating the merger of Bridge View Bank, then publicly traded, with Interchange Bank. At Interchange Bank, John served on the Executive Committee and played a key role in negotiating the acquisition of Interchange Bank by TD Bank. John’s business acumen is an invaluable resource to the clients he represents in all types of cases.

Born in Cliffside Park, NJ, in 1944, he attended the Fort Lee public school system. He graduated with a B.E. from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1965 and received his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law in 1968. He is married to Margaret “Peggy” Bade and has three children; this scholarship was established in honor of his father, Anthony Schepisi.
